 Barrett-Jackson Auktionsergebnisse Scottsdale 2002
Zum 31. Mal ging heuer von 17. bis 20. Jänner 2002 die alljährliche Großauktion des Versteigerungshauses Barrett-Jackson über die Bühne. Mehr als 200 Spitzenfahrzeuge mussten auch dieses Jahr wieder abgewiesen werden, da aus Kapazitätsgründen nur 850 Fahrzeuge zur Versteigerung zugelassen werden konnten. Mehr als 3.200 Bieter wurden registriert, die um die begehrten Stücke kämpften! Das Gesamtergebnis ließ sich jedenfalls sehen: 86 Prozent der Fahrzeuge wurden verkauft und 26,9 Millionen US-Dollar wechselten den Besitzer!

Dieses Jahr brachte das bisher beste Verkaufsverhältnis aller einunddreißig Jahre, die diese Auktion in Scottsdale, Arizona nun schon abgehalten wird. Ein besonderer Trend zeichnete sich heuer noch stärker ab: Weniger extrem teure Vorkriegsklassiker wie in der Vergangenheit, sondern mehr Nachkriegsfahrzeuge der Fünfzigerjahre, Muscle Cars und Hot Rods stellten das Feld der angebotenen Fahrzeuge. Das höchste Gebot von 432.000 US$ erzielte der 2000er Saleen S7 Werks-Prototyp, gefolgt von einem 1966er Ford GT 40 Mark I, der sogar im Film "Grand Prix" eingesetzt wurde, mit 405.000 US$! Weitere Traumgebote erzielten ein 1970er Chevrolet Chevelle LS-6 Cabrio mit 182.800 US$, ein 1965er Corvette L-78 Cabrio mit 124.200 US`$ und ein 1958er Chevrolet Impala Cabrio mit 86.400 US$. Bei den Hot Rods zeichnete sich eine Sensation ab als der bekannte 1932er High Boy Roadster "Black Jack" auf unglaubliche 172.800 US$ lizitiert wurde!
